I read a great blog post once that talked about the fact that when you're driving at night, you can't see more than a few feet ahead of you. Even though you can't see very far, you still make it to where you are going, in the end. (What a great analogy...I need to make sure I tell this one to my husband. Sometimes cars can be more inspiring than quotes from old monks.:)
I will share with you my prayer tonight, in hopes that my family's little story--and our hope--will inspire you in whatever you are going through right now. Peace be with you!
Merciful Lord, I have no idea where we are going with babies and business and parenting and life sometimes. Michael and I know that the fact that we are fairly sure we are following your will for our lives doesn't mean we're actually doing so. We struggle often with doubt, and are so imperfect in so many ways. But we desire to know you, to love you, and to serve you, and those desires please you.
The story you are writing for us has a happy ending. Therefore we will continue to trust you, though we sometimes feel we are attacked and sinking. We will continue to consciously give glory to you by our cheerful hope, by our hard work, and by our humble and dignified yes to whatever you bring our way. Amen.
